Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz fullback, James Develin, signed with the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League earlier this week. Develin (6�3, 260) joined the Dawgz organization in Week 15 of the 2010 season appearing in the game against the Tulsa Talons.

13. Whittaker joins UFL's Florida Tuskers

The Spokane Shock announced today that WR Huey Whittaker has signed with the UFL�s Florida Tuskers. A Florida native, Whittaker played an integral role in Spokane�s ArenaBowl Championship season as one of only two offensive starters to play in all 16 games during the regular season.

The Spokane Shock announced today that the Spokane County Commissioner�s office has proclaimed the month of September �Spokane Shock Month.� Commissioner Mark Richard will present the Shock with the proclamation at tonight�s Championship Rally.

15. Futura Healthcare Technology signs on as first Soul sponsor

The Philadelphia Soul and Futura Healthcare Technology have agreed to a sponsorship partnership alliance, the team�s first since making their return to the Arena Football League earlier this month. The partnership is a multi-year deal in which Futura Healthcare Technology will receive broadcast and in-game exposure by advertising in the end-zone, a prime TV location in the AFL.

16. Breaking it Down � ArenaBowl XXIII

Spokane became the first team to win titles in the af2 and AFL in grand fashion by beating the most storied franchise, the Tampa Bay Storm, in Arena Football history in ArenaBowl XXIII. Shock QB Kyle Rowley was responsible for all ten of the team's touchdowns en route to being named MVP. Over twenty ArenaBowl records were either set or tied in the first AFL championship game since 2008. 17. White joins UFL's Hartford Colonials

The Spokane Shock announced today that WR Markee White has signed with the Hartford Colonials of the UFL. In last week�s ArenaBowl victory over the Tampa Bay Storm, White was named the Offensive Player of the Game after he recorded a team-leading nine receptions for 99 yards with four touchdowns.

18. Shock to host championship rally

The Spokane Shock announced today that they will host a Championship rally on Wednesday, August 25th at 6 PM at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. In its inaugural season in the AFL, the Shock captured its first ArenaBowl Title after defeating the Tampa Bay Storm last week 69-57 in front of a national television audience on the NFL Network.

It only took one step into Spokane Arena on Thursday's Media Day for ArenaBowl XXIII to know that there was something special here. Just take one look in the rafters. Banner after banner after banner are hanging in the end zone just to the left of the scoreboard.

4. Shocking! Spokane Storms Tampa Bay in ArenaBowl XXIII Victory

11,017 fans packed into the stadium for the city's first ever ArenaBowl and its second Arena Football championship game. Previously, the 2008 ArenaCup ended in a disaster, as the Tennessee Valley Vipers ripped the hearts out of the Shock with a 56-55 overtime defeat.

5. Storm Seek Super Sixth at ArenaBowl XXIII

1991, 1993, 1995, 1996, and 2003. Those are the banners that are hanging high in the St. Pete Times Forum as the Storm prepare for their seventh ArenaBowl appearance since moving to Tampa Bay and their ninth in franchise history.

However, on Friday night, both Tampa Bay Storm QB Brett Dietz and Spokane Shock QB Kyle Rowley will take to the field for ArenaBowl XXIII.

I'm not saying that the Spokane Shock are anywhere near like the New York Jets of 1969. It is pretty clear that QB Kyle Rowley is one of the best indoor quarterbacks in the AFL or any other alphabet league, and the Shock are clearly a fantastic squad that took it to the best in the league all season long. This clearly wouldn't be an upset at all.

9. Breaking it Down � Conf. Championships/AB 23 Preview

Entering 2010, the greatest AFL franchise was Tampa Bay with its league-record five championships and the last af2 champion was Spokane (arguably the greatest af2 franchise). This week is the ArenaBowl and these two-storied franchises will met for the very first time in a clash of new versus old. The way each got here as well as all the history of the league�s greatest game � the ArenaBowl � will be broken down like nowhere else.

10. Beat the Guru: ArenaBowl XXIII

Way back at the beginning of the season, I made my ArenaBowl picks and went with Tampa Bay and Milwaukee, but said I wouldn't be surprised if it was Tampa Bay and Spokane in this game. When the Storm were a woeful little team just struggling to get to .500, I went on the AFL Roundtable, and while verbally sparring for the better part of two hours, was called crazy for picking HC Tim Marcum's boys to win it all.

11. Preds Should Hold Heads High in Spite of Defeat in Tampa Bay

It was one of the most boring War on I-4 battles in the history of the most storied rivalry in the AFL... And then the final 17 minutes of the game happened... And never before was there a game between the Orlando Predators and the Tampa Bay Storm that ended quite like this. The Predators watched their 2010 campaign come to a close on Saturday night at the St. Pete Times Forum with a 63-62 defeat at the hands of their arch rivals from Tampa Bay.

12. Beat the Guru: AFL Semifinals

And then there were four. The chase for the ArenaBowl heats up again this week, as four teams fight it out to play for the championship. I still haven't totally hit postseason form yet after going 2-2 last week. However, that 2-2 ATS mark was a popular one amongst posters at ArenaFan.

13. AFL Legend Delivers for Milwaukee

Big players make big plays in big games. In Saturday night�s AFL first round playoff game against the Chicago Rush, Damian Harrell reminded everyone of why he is one of the best to ever play this game.

14. Breaking it Down � 2010 Divisional Playoffs

And then there were four. The top two seeds in the National Conference advanced while the bottom two seeds in the American Conference won on the road. Milwaukee and Spokane are left in the National, while the league's greatest rivalry will meet for the eighth time in the postseason in the American side (Orlando and Tampa Bay). The divisional round was the highest scoring of any four-team playoff round in league history. This and more are featured in the Divisional Playoff edition of Breaking it Down.

15. Beat the Guru: 2010 AFL Quarterfinals

The Guru is back after taking a hiatus for a few weeks just in time for the playoffs! The regular season was a tumultuous one to say the least, as there were a number of ups and downs, freakish results, thrilling conclusions, and of course, refereeing that leaves a lot to be desired. As we start the playoffs though, there are two major flaws in the system, one of which the league has at least found a remedy for, while the other appears as though it will go completely ignored.

16. Breaking it Down � Week 18

In the league's first ever Week 18, the road teams won five of seven games. Arizona almost had a home playoff game despite not winning its division, but lost it with a loss. Jacksonville claimed the best record in the American Conference by beating the league�s top regular season team. This, some league records, interesting facts, one of the worst ArenaBowl logos and useless information that only a true AFL lover would love are in the regular season finale of Breaking it Down.

17. Breaking it Down - 2010 AFL Awards Ballot

The AFL sent out media ballots for the end of the season awards and All-Arena teams Sunday afternoon. After filling mine out, I wanted to share it with you and give you reasons why I feel each recipient should be named that specific award. In addition, I've included by All-Arena First and Second Teams. This is my ballot that I'm sending to the league after I post it here first.

18. Wilson, Sippio Ejected for Going Into Stands

An altercation began in the stands between the Predators OL/DL Julius Wilson and some fans. Later on, WR Bobby Sippio joined the ruckus in the stands. Both players were ejected from the game immediately before play could continue.

19. Fight in Stands Mars Preds Romp Over Storm

The 2010 AFL regular season came to a close on Saturday night at the St. Pete Times Forum, as the Orlando Predators (8-8) defeated the Tampa Bay Storm (11-5) 75-60 in front of 17,302 fans. However, the story in the Sunshine State had nothing to do with the outcome on the field.

20. Breaking it Down � 2010 Week 17

With just a week to go in the regular season, all eight playoff teams have been decided and Spokane locked up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Rod Windsor added another league single-season record to his record-breaking rookie campaign. Also, Dallas named its new head coach at halftime. 21. Report: BattleWings, Vipers to relocate, take up former AFL franchise identities for 2011

On Tuesday, a story broke on a blog website about the possibility of The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings relocating to New Orleans and taking up the identity of the New Orleans VooDoo. Since then, ArenaFan has been contacted by two independent sources, and provided some additional information.

22. Fans, Games Made The Jungle, Not The Building

This is supposed to be one of those sentimental opines. In a perfect world, I wax poetic about some steel beams, some bricks and some mortar and bid farewell to a building like it was an old friend. Great stuff has happened here. But the building itself? Feh. But what made this place rock were those fans.

23. Breaking it Down - 2010 Week 16

Seven of the eight playoff teams have been decided as well as two division titles. Three total teams clinched playoff berths, while two were eliminated. Jacksonville and Tampa Bay swapped places despite losing AFL all-time leading passer Aaron Garcia and Spokane's road until ArenaBowl XXIII will be at home. This and my top offensive player of the year await you in the Week 16 edition of Breaking it Down.

24. Why Risk It????

Watching Chicago Rush QB Russ Michna walk off the field after the last offensive series for the team just before halftime made me and just about every Rush fan in the Allstate Arena cringe. He had been driven hard into the carpet while being sacked by Dallas Vigilantes defensive lineman Justin Warren.

25. ArenaFan Travelogue: Cleveland Gladiators

When I looked at the 2010 AFL schedule and saw that Oklahoma City was going to be in Cleveland on Saturday night, July 17, I decided to make my first trip to Quicken Loans Arena for the game. It didn�t hurt that former Grand Rapids Rampage head coach Steve Thonn was now in charge of the Gladiators.
